It's worse than you think!

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/hundreds-of-top-government-jobs-under-trump-are-unfilled-so-whos-running-things

"The federal government now has close to two million civilian workers
nationwide. Now let’s focus on the biggest bosses. There are a few hundred key
positions appointed by the president and approved by the Senate. These are the
people who run our government day to day. And one year into the Trump
presidency, many of those posts are still empty.

"Let’s take 630 key jobs, all of them filled by presidential nomination and
tracked by the Partnership for Public Service. Of those 630 top jobs, about 240
of them right now have no nominee. Another 140 of those jobs have nominees, but
they’re waiting to be confirmed. Upshot?

"More than half of key positions right now are unfilled.

Man Too Corrupt For White House Just Right Amount of Corrupt For Trump Campaign

https://theslot.jezebel.com/man-too-corrupt-for-white-house-just-right-amount-of-co-1823733425

CNN reports that Donald Trump’s personal aide John McEntee was just fired
because “he is currently under investigation by the Department of Homeland
Security for serious financial crimes.” So what did Donald Trump’s team do next?
Naturally, they hired McEntee to join Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign as a
senior adviser. Beautiful!

The Trump campaign did not mention McEntee’s pending investigation, nor did
White House officials explain why he was “abruptly escorted out of the White
House” on Monday, according to Politico.

As all good things come in threes, McEntee’s firing and subsequent rehiring is
just one of several unceremonious White House departures this week—and it’s only
Tuesday. As of Tuesday morning, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has been axed,
and National Economic Director Gary Cohn has resigned. Just another week in
Trumpland, I guess?
